At the end of 2017, Bailac Thor, a leading contractor for mining tire handling in the Chilean market, incorporated  a new tool developed by FMA : The OTR Tire Protection Ring Remover, to be used in Minera Collahuasi (Anglo American/ Glencore ) . This tool eliminates the risks of such work, automating the operation.

Subsequently, in June 2018, Minera Escondida (BHP) also incorporated this tool into its tire shop, with the aim of ensuring the safety of its operators and reducing the time it takes to stop trucks when replacing or repairing tires.
