In the month of April 2017, FMA delivered to Cerrejon in La Guajira, Colombia, a Pin Extractor equipment designed to facilitate the operation of extracting or positioning Shovel’s pins
We are pleased to announce the successful start-up of our Pin Extractor EEP-5000, work done by FMA’s technical team, who assembled the equipment, put it in service and trained the personnel that will carry out the operation in the mine.
The EEP-5000 is undoubtedly a great contribution to the highly demanding tasks of personnel, equipment and also which have a high risk for workers, that are carried out today for the extraction and assembly of mining shovel’s pins.
Cerrejon made the important decision of buying an equipment that represents a great technological leap in the way of performing the critical task of removing the pins from the large shovels and then installing a new one, now with great speed and maximum security. The shorter time spent in the replacement of shovel’s pins ensures a lower stopping of these large equipment, which represents an important contribution to lower operating costs and increasing production.
We are grateful to Cerrejon for having relied on FMA and its ability to design and manufacture high technology equipment to solve complex problems in the mining sector.
